Mike Hartley
President AMST
Mike joined AMST in July of 2020 assuming the role of President. Mike brings more than 35 years of industrial B2B experience in engineering, operations, commercial and business leadership roles.
Mike’s Background
Mike Hartley received a B.S. in General Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Mike began his career with Illinois Tool Works (ITW) and spent 19- years with the company. During his time at ITW, Mike opened factories, implemented quality systems, developed and sold new product lines and led multi-location businesses in the U.S., Mexico and China. More recently, Mike held leadership roles with global industrial companies Assa Abloy and The Marmon Group. For those organizations, Mike had full responsibility for companies in structural steel distribution, building products, safety products and industrial components in the U.S., Canada, China and France. Mike consistently applies Lean thinking and 80/20 methodologies to deliver outstanding value to customers, drive growth and provide opportunities for employees.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities, spending time with family, reading, gardening and painting.
